Evaluation Capacity Building: Data Utilization & Reflection Live Interactive Webinar

November 30 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm EST

Judi’s House/JAG Institute (JH/JAG) launched the Childhood Bereavement Changemaker initiative (CBC) in 2019 to empower bereavement partners to use data to inform decision-making and enhance impact. In 2022 JH/JAG launched the CBC expansion to initiate best practice standards for evaluation and data collection/utilization in the childhood bereavement field. Through a series of training workshops and custom technical assistance, JH/JAG will support Changemakers in growing their capacity for data collection, and program evaluation through a 12-month process designed to address data and evaluation needs big and small. Participating organizations will gain access to the knowledge and resources necessary to create efficient data processes to tell their story, identify service gaps, and target funding opportunities.

In this fourth training module – Evaluation Capacity Building: Data Utilization/Reflection – JH/JAG builds upon learnings from the first three training modules (e.g., creating a program impact map, developing and implementing an evaluation plan, developing analytic plans) and prepares Changemakers to utilize their evaluation data. Participants will be trained on how to plan and prepare for internal data discussions and how to engage stakeholders with data to surface learnings and make data-informed decisions. The workshop will review considerations and best practices in data visualization to tell the story of impact, highlight how to make evaluation findings actionable, and provide guidance on how to iterate towards the next evaluation goal and process.

The workshop structure includes Welcome/Introduction, and for each objective:  Content, Activity, Application, Wrap-Up.  Presenters will utilize small group breakouts, polls, and chat to engage participants in the evaluation content and orient them to the templates they will utilize to apply learnings in their organization. Time will be allocated at the end of the session to review each objective, discuss plans for application, and complete an action plan outlining the next steps.
