Evaluation Capacity Building: Implementation Live Interactive Webinar

February 15, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST

Judi’s House/JAG Institute (JH/JAG) launched the Childhood Bereavement Changemaker initiative in 2019 to empower bereavement partners to use data to inform decision-making and enhance impact. In 2022 JH/JAG launched the Childhood Bereavement Changemaker expansion to initiate best practice standards for evaluation and data collection/utilization in the childhood bereavement field. Through a series of training workshops and custom technical assistance, JH/JAG will support Changemakers in growing their capacity for data collection, and program evaluation through a 12-month process designed to address data and evaluation needs big and small. Participating organizations will gain access to the knowledge and resources necessary to create efficient data processes to tell their story, identify service gaps, and target funding opportunities.

In this third training module – Evaluation Capacity Building: Implementation – JH/JAG builds upon learnings from the first two training modules (e.g., creating a program impact map/logic model, creating an evaluation plan) and prepares Changemakers for data capture, analysis, interpretation, and reporting. Participants will be trained on how to implement their evaluation plan, including how to gather data, monitor and adapt data collection, and analyze and report data towards the goal of using data to answer evaluation questions and meet the evaluation goal.

The workshop structure includes Welcome/Introduction, and for each objective:  Content, Activity, Application, Wrap-Up.  The presenters will utilize small group breakouts, polls, and chat to engage participants in activities focused on the evaluation content and orient them to the templates they will utilize to apply learnings in their organization. Time will be allocated at the end of the session to review each objective, discuss plans for application of learnings, and allow participants to complete an action plan outlining the next steps for their organization.
