Description
Children with intellectual disabilities (ID) have long been underrepresented in grief and bereavement research, often leaving families and professionals without clear guidance for providing support. This webinar addresses that gap by presenting findings from recent research on how children with ID experience grief and bereavement.
Designed for professionals, educators, and caregivers working with bereaved children, this session will bridge research and practice. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how children with ID, across communication modes, may experience and cope with a loss. The presentation will introduce the Caring Connections model, a new framework that informs developmentally inclusive grief support. Whether you’re new to this topic or looking to deepen your practice, this webinar will offer evidence-based insights and practical applications.
