Blue Butterly Program manager at Blue Butterfly Family Grief Center (Lakewood Ranch, FL). Full-Time. 

Position Overview

Join the Blue Butterfly team at Empath Health as the Manager on site to provide clinical oversite, staff support and model integrity. Work alongside the Blue Butterfly Director to ensure assigned territory is adequately meeting the needs of grieving children.

Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience: Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education preferred; or Master’s degree from a clinical counseling program such as mental health or marriage and family therapy.

Required to have one of the following credentials:

  • Licensed in the State of Florida in one of the following
  • Social Work (LCSW) or
  • Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or
  • Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or
  • Has applied for one of the above licenses and will be licensed in the State of Florida within 90 days of hire

OR

  • License eligible (Registered Intern) in the State of Florida in one of the following:
  • Social Work (RCSWI) or
  • Mental Health Counselor (RMHCI) or
  • Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFTI) or
  • Has applied for one of the above licenses and will be licensed as a registered intern in the State of Florida within 90 days of hire

OR

  • Hired into this job prior to 1/1/23 and has a minimum of a master’s degree in either Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Child Life.
  • This does not include colleagues who had attained and are no longer licensed or license eligible

Minimum of 2 years experience in leadership of a team, department or program.

Minimum of 3 years experience in provision of direct clinical services, preferably in the children’s grief environment.

Continuing Education: As required for licensure

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversite and leadership over Blue Butterfly staff and program implementation in specified region.
  • Responsible for upholding the Blue Butterfly model standard of care and implementing program’s policies and procedures.
  • Keeps client centered services and caring at the forefront and focuses on client needs in upholding standards to exceed customer expectations.
  • Upholds programs policies and procedures and hold staff accountable to meet regulatory standards and plan of care.
  • Provides oversite that program offerings include a full compliment of grief care services for grieving children and families to meet their needs.
  • Promotes, articulates and models the vision, mission and values of the organization.
  • Develops partnerships in the community and participates in community engagement with community leaders.
  • Participates and assumes leadership roles in committees and tasks forces in the organization as assigned.
  • Ensures programs goals and objectives directly correlate to the Empath Health strategic plan.
  • Oversees the annual operating budget for the program.
  • Collaborates and partners with the Foundation for financial support of program offerings.
  • Creatively decreases costs without sacrificing service, quality or compliance with regulations.
  • Possesses and demonstrates a comprehensive body of knowledge regarding children’s grief care services.
  • Responsible for staying up to date with latest research regarding children’s grief, trauma and supportive interventions to provide education to clinical staff and volunteers.

Tidewell Hospice’s Blue Butterfly program, a member of Empath Health, is currently seeking a Blue Butterfly Counselor to provide support and healing during life’s toughest moments.

Primary Responsibilities:

As a Blue Butterfly Counselor, you will provide individual, family, and group bereavement counseling, education, crisis interventions, and support services to all assigned clients.

Additionally, the Blue Butterfly Counselor also provides grief workshops/seminars, resource information and referrals to other agencies as appropriate.
