CE Information 

The National Alliance for Children’s Grief (NACG) has been approved to provide CEs for this event through theNational Board of Certified Counselors, the Association of Social Work Boards, the Licensed Master SocialWorkers and Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and the New York State Education Department for York StateEducation Department of Licensed Mental Health Counselors for eligible sessions.

There is no additional fee for CEs, as they are included in your registration cost, but registration for CEs is required. Credit is awarded on a session-by-session basis with full attendance required for the sessions attended. The Symposium offers contact hours as follows:

Monday, June 17, 2024: 3.0 hours
Tuesday, June 18, 2024: 3.0 hours
Wednesday, June 19, 2024: 3.5 hours
Symposium TOTAL: 9.5 hours

Creative Arts Intensive Add-On: 4.5 hours
TOTAL CEs AVAILABLE: 14.0 hours

Please note that not all sessions are approved for continuing education credit, and the total CE hours provided and sessions are subject to change. Information on CE-eligible sessions is listed on the agenda, so please check for exceptions. If a session is marked “No CEs,” then CEs are unavailable for that session.

Signing In and Out of Sessions

If you plan on receiving CE credit, you must sign in and out of every session you attend using the QR code on your nametag or in the Whova app. Volunteers will be at the doors of each CE-approved session, checking attendees in and out. Ensure you have a volunteer scan your name badge on the way in and on the way out of every session. If you forget to sign out or have any other technical issues, please visit the Registration Desk on the Second Floor Level.

Evaluations

If you are receiving CE credit, you must complete an evaluation for each CE-eligible session you attend. Evaluations can be found on the Whova app by locating the session on the agenda and selecting “Session Feedback” or “Rate Session.”

Evaluations must be completed by Friday, June 23, 2023, to receive CE credit. CE letters will be emailed to you within a month following the event. Please note that your CE letter will be sent from certificates@simplecert.net. The link for your certificate will come from this email address as the National Alliance for Children’s Grief, so please ensure this email is saved so that it doesn’t go to spam.

CE Provider Information

Each professional is responsible for the individual requirements as stipulated by their licensing agency. Please contact your individual licensing board/regulatory agency to review continuing education requirements for licensure renewal. Please note: You must attend “live” (in real-time) to earn CEs. The National Alliance for Children’s Grief has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7221. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The National Alliance for Children’s Grief is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. Counselors completing this course can receive up to 9.5 contact hours during Symposium and an additional 4.5 contact hours for Creative Arts Intensive participants (add-on ticket required).

The National Alliance for Children’s Grief is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0689. Social Workers completing this course can receive up to 9.5 contact hours during Symposium and an additional 4.5 contact hours for Creative Arts Intensive participants (add-on ticket required).

The National Alliance for Children’s Grief is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors. #MHC-0238. Counselors completing this course can receive up to 9.5 contact hours during Symposium and an additional 4.5 contact hours for Creative Arts Intensive participants (add-on ticket required).

National Alliance for Children’s Grief, #1819, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers.  State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. National Alliance for Children’s Grief maintains responsibility for this course.  ACE provider approval period: 07/20/2023 – 07/20/2026. Counselors completing this course can receive up to 9.5 contact hours during Symposium and an additional 4.5 contact hours for Creative Arts Intensive participants (add-on ticket required).

Attendance policy:  To earn CEs for this event, you must attend the entirety of each CE-eligible session as demonstrated by your scanned check-in and check-out time and complete an online event evaluation within seven (7) days of the event. Please make sure you are registered using the name that matches your professional license and not the name of your place of employment, as there is no way to verify your attendance after the fact if your name does not appear on the attendance report. CE certificates will be sent out within 30 days of the educational event. The link for your certificate will come from “certificates@simplecert.net” as the National Alliance for Children’s Grief. Please be sure to add this email to your “safe sender list”. The NACG is unable to process certificates after 90 days from the date of the event.

CE Certificate retrieval request: The NACG maintains continuing education records for at least six years from the date of completion of the educational event which includes: name and curriculum vitae of the presenter, a record of attendance, an outline of the course, date and location of the course, and the number of hours for completion of the course. Please note that if the education event was more than 90 days ago, and a required evaluation was not completed, a certificate cannot be provided per the policy.
