Starting in January 2025, the cost of an individual NACG membership will increase to $125 per year. Discounted individual memberships (for students, volunteers, and seniors) will increase to $75 per year. Current members, please check your member communications for more information.

Ways for Current Members to Get Involved

Discussion Hubs

These groups are facilitated by members on a monthly or quarterly basis. This is a great opportunity for networking and collaboration!

  • Grief Camps
  • Grieving with Disabilities
  • Hospice | This call is for anyone who provides grief programming for youth and is affiliated with a hospice organization.
  • Private Practice Clinicians | This call is open to anyone in private practice.
  • Research & Evaluation | This call is limited to members who are currently conducting research or evaluation projects. The discussion hub chair will review applications and confirm meeting link to applicants that meet the criteria for joining. 
  • School Groups
  • Serving Spanish-Speaking Grievers
  • Student/Interns
  • Supporting Young Adults who are Grieving | For those who are serving young adults grievers, 18 and above, and are interested in discussing and learning how to best support this population.  
  • Volunteer Management

LGBTQIA+ Affinity Group. This call is a member-led group open to all childhood bereavement professionals who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. This ensures a confidential and brave space within the larger body of NACG membership for members of this community to speak and participate openly in sharing experiences relating to gender identity and sexuality as it connects to our work in childhood bereavement. Calls are scheduled on a regular basis and you will receive an invite ahead of the scheduled call. The first call is scheduled for October 9 at 2:00pm ET. To register your interest in joining the call, complete THIS form.

PoC Affinity Group. This call is a member-led group open to all childhood bereavement professionals who identify as persons of color.  The PoC Affinity Group connects people of color within the childhood bereavement field with each other. It ensures a confidential and brave space within the larger body of NACG membership for members of color to speak and participate openly in sharing experiences relating to race and ethnicity as it connects to our work in childhood bereavement. Calls are scheduled on a regular basis and you will receive an invite ahead of the scheduled call. Leadership Networking Call (Monthly)

This call is appropriate for those who are the lead person in their organization (Executive Director, CEO etc.)

Membership Networking Call (Monthly)

This call is appropriate for all members and multiple representatives from organizations are welcome.  We have general group discussions and often switch to functional groups.

Committees

The National Alliance for Children’s Grief has several committees that help drive the work of the alliance. Committees are utilized to provide expertise and experience on a variety of topics. Most committees meet for one hour – every other month. If you are interested in serving on a committee, please find a staff member, board member, or committee chair and find out about opportunities to be engaged in the work of NACG!

We would be honored to have you join a committee as together we can strengthen the work we do!

Development Committee

The Development Committee assists the organization in exploring both fundraising and friend-raising in development opportunities and fundraising activities. The committee meets every other month for one hour.

Education Committee

The Education Committee works to bring the very best educational opportunities to the NACG membership. The committee is invited to make recommendations regarding education opportunities and needs related to the field of childhood bereavement. The committee meets every other month for one hour.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee acts to grow the NACG Alliance by expanding individual/organizational enrollment, membership benefits, and development of initiatives that engage members in awareness of NACG resources and mission.  Committee members serve as a resource in support of the NACG Symposium, community outreach and awareness campaigns. The committee meets every other month for one hour.

NACG Workgroups

Workgroups provide a wonderful opportunity to share their expertise and experience in our field. An array of topics are explored, so there is an opportunity to engage in a variety of subject areas.

  • Workgroups are time-limited, which is an easier commitment for many.
  • Workgroups have a specific purpose with an output. Workgroups allow members to see a project from beginning to end.
  • Workgroups provide an opportunity to contribute to a product and reflect a sense of accomplishment. Contributors are cited in the resources that are developed.
  • Workgroups need specific representation in skills, knowledge base, field representation, and diversity. The workgroup format allows for the rotation of members to share their expertise and representation.

Membership Levels

The NACG members join as individuals. Organizational discounts are available. Our membership year is a rolling year. You will receive 12-months of membership benefits, no matter what month you join. Membership is non-refundable.

Organizational Discounts

Organizational Discounts are available for any organization that supports grieving children, teens, and families. Membership is open to grief centers, hospices, hospitals, support groups, religious organizations, community organizations, mental health organizations – any program that wants to be part of a national network. There are four levels of organizational discounts available. Membership is non-refundable.
